Open the meeting

The Chairman Geoff Humphrey opened the January meeting with a toast Happy New Year to the Branch and all Submariners
There were eight members present.

NMC Report

John Wood gave a very good report on the NMC meeting held on 7th January in Birmingham. At next month's meeting the branch will vote on the new National Chairmans post.

Any Other Business

Birthday Greetings to George Spencer, John Sanderson and Bob Fleming.
Proposals for AGM last chance: No more proposals were made
Truculent Memorial Service: Regrettably the branch Standard will not be paraded at the service, As last year, Network Rail will not run trains out of Thanet during the weekend. The secretary will represent the branch.
Request for Standard at Portsmouth Memorial Service on 18th March. The branch will not attend this service.
The Chairman reported that he had not heard from Kevin Harding and as his subs had not been paid for last year, he would pass on to the National Association that he was now a lapsed member of the branch.

There being no other business, the Chairman shut the meeting with orders to Group Up in the Bar.


Date of Next Meeting

1130 Sunday 5th February. at the Royal British Legion Club, Margate.
This will be the AGM, blazers to be worn. All ex and serving submariners are welcome.
